Hungary: Apollo Tyres Establishes Europe’s Largest Greenfield Tyre Manufacturing Facility

The manufacturing facility is located at Gyongyoshalasz near Budapest. Besides the production of tyres under Apollo’s brand name, this facility will also manufacture tyres under the Vredestein brand, which the company had acquired in 2009.

Apollo Tyres has reportedly invested 475 million Euros to establish Europe’s largest greenfield manufacturing facility in Hungary. The company will start manufacturing tyres from early 2017 to meet the demand of the European markets. The production plant will have an annual production capacity of 62 lakh tyres, according to a report on Moneycontrol.

Apollo Tyres had started constructing its first greenfield plant in Europe in April 2015. The manufacturing facility is located at Gyongyoshalasz near Budapest. Besides the production of tyres under Apollo’s brand name, this facility will also manufacture tyres under the Vredestein brand, which the company had acquired in 2009.

From this manufacturing facility, the company will produce tyres for both passenger cars and heavy commercial vehicles. The production plant has the capacity to produce 55 lakh passenger car and light truck tyres and 6.75 lakh heavy commercial vehicle tyres.
