Prices of entry level models, namely, Maruti Alto and Wagon R, will be increased by Rs. 1,500, whereas, Baleno’s price will be hiked by Rs. 8,014.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has hiked the prices of all its models and the new prices will be effective from January 27 this year. The price hike will range between Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 8,014 (ex-showroom, Delhi). While other carmakers had hiked the prices of their auto products with effect from January 1, 2017, Maruti Suzuki announced a price hike about a month later, owing to increase in transportation, commodity and administrative costs.
This price hike is applicable to all the cars sold through Maruti Suzuki and Nexa dealerships, however, the newly launched Ignis crossover hatchback’s price remains unchanged, according to a report on Team-BHP. Prices of entry level models, namely, Maruti Alto and Wagon R, will be increased by Rs. 1,500, whereas, Baleno’s price will be hiked by Rs. 8,014.
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki also announced the expansion of its best selling Wagon R with the launch of all-new VXi+ variant, which will be equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, new dual tone interiors with Piano Black finish.
